Our story began with two friends – Catherine and Dennis. Catherine, an educator since 1982, opened her first nursery in 1989 and has never looked back. As the years went by, the importance of play and 'toys' fluctuated, which reinforced Catherine's passion for play in children's lives. Eventually, it became time to do something about this, and so the idea of starting her own nursery supply company began.
It wasn't until Catherine expressed her ideas to her friend Dennis, a retail and trade business owner, that Talking Turtle was born. Dennis, a grandfather to four young children, shared Catherine's passionate views on early years education. His experience, distribution network, and warehouse facilities provided the perfect behind-the-scenes setup for talking turtle to take off.
