Talking Turtle was started by two friends – Catherine and Dennis. Catherine, an educator since 1982, opened her first nursery in 1989, and has never looked back. As the years went by the importance of play and ‘toys’ fluctuated and this reinforced Catherine's passion for play in children’s lives. Eventually it became time to do something about this and so the idea of starting her own supply company began.
It wasn’t until Catherine expressed her ideas to friend Dennis, a retail and trade business owner, that Talking Turtle was born. Dennis, a Grandad to four young children, shared Catherine’s passionate views on early years education, and his experience, distribution network, and warehouse facilities provided the perfect behind the scenes setup for Talking Turtle.
